Inertial method for estimating the effect of lubricants’ quality on energy efficiency of chain transmissions
# 06, June 2013
DOI: 10.7463/0613.0577582
A.V. Egorov, K.E. Kozlov
The article presents a methodology, theoretical justification and experimental results of testing the inertial method for estimating the effect of lubricants’ quality on energy efficiency of chain transmission as part of a chain drive. The proposed method allows to investigate mechanical losses in chain drives within a wide range of speed, load and transient modes, which directly depend on lubricants’ quality. Equipping the drive with hardware and a software system, it is possible to estimate the effect of lubricants’ quality for the inertia moment of losses in a chain transmission during operation of a chain drive.

V.M. Utenkov, P.A. Bykov
This article presents prerequisites for carrying out experiments in order to test machine tools for implementing high-speed processing. The authors propose a method for determining frequency vibration-free tool rotation at high speed milling. Results of experiments of measuring cutting forces with the use of the Kistler dynamometer are presented in this article. They are: turning of aluminum alloy at cutting speeds from 100 to 1000 m/min at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich; milling of aluminum alloys at cutting speeds from 471 to 942 m/min at Bauman MSTU, Laboratory of Department MT-1 “Machine Tools”; milling of aluminum alloys and steels (cutting speed up to 452 m/min) at Dubna Machine Building Plant.
Teeth profiling of thread milling cutters with helical flutes
# 06, June 2013
DOI: 10.7463/0613.0579350
O.V. Malkov
This article presents a description of existent methods of correlation adjustment of tooth contour of thread milling cutters with straight flute. The author developed a method for profiling teeth of a thread milling cutting’s tapping unit with helical flutes and a face surface in the front section in the form of a line with a face angle which is not equal to 0°. Calculation showed that in a general case the thread milling cutter’s tooth contour for processing a metric thread is an unsymmetrical one with a deviation from 30 degrees which depends on the diameter of a tapping unit, a pitch of thread, an angle of slope of helical flutes and both end and front angles.

# 06, June 2013
DOI: 10.7463/0613.0567522
V.M. Yaroslavtsev
Construction of a reamer which implements a combined cutting process with outrunning plastic deformation (OPD) during hole-making operations is considered in this article. The author provides results of an experimental investigation of efficiency of hole reaming with OPD while processing 20H13, I2H18N10T, 10H12N22Т3МR steels and L63 latten. Experience has shown that design features of a reamer appear in stabilization of the cutting process with random disturbances and eliminate vibrations in cross direction, increase homogeneity of the surface layer structure. This leads to decrease in ruggedness of the finished surface, more uniform distribution of this ruggedness over the length of a detail, increase in micro-hardness of the surface layer along with technological durability of a tool and process efficiency.

Intensification of aeration of pits with the use of guiding devices
# 06, June 2013
DOI: 10.7463/0613.0577364
I.I. Starostin, A.V. Bondarenko
The design of the guiding device was developed for intensification of aeration of pits, which allows one to increase the speed of straight and inverse air streams in working zones of excavations during weakened natural air exchange, and improve working conditions. On the basis of modeling and analysing research results, optimum parameters of an aeration device were determined; aerodynamics of air streams in pits with various geometry of the developed space was investigated; calculated dependences for determination of speeds of air wind currents were obtained. Thus, use of a guiding device increases efficiency of aeration of the developed space of a pit at the expense of increase in speed of a wind stream on failure into a pit, reduction of volume of a circulation zone and reduction of speeds of air streams in it.

# 06, June 2013
DOI: 10.7463/0613.0574706
P.V. Scherbachev
This paper presents a method of identifying parameters of a mathematical model of an electrohydraulic drive. The method is based on comparison of the characteristics obtained during an experiment, and of the characteristics obtained by simulation. A criterion of identity was formed for this case. A search algorithm was built with the use of the Nelder-Mead method for numerical minimization. A mathematical model of an electro-hydraulic drive was presented. The author considers influence of quality of manufacturing spool valves on characteristics of electro-hydraulic drives. Conclusions on effectiveness of the proposed method were drawn.

# 06, June 2013
DOI: 10.7463/0613.0569281
D.N. Popov, D.S. Zamaraev
This paper presents a technique of sequential optimization of an electrohydraulic servo drive. The electrohydraulic servo drive was considered as a set of subsystems of level 1 (Lv. 1) and level 2 (Lv. 2). At level 1 the electrohydraulic servo drive was considered together with an electrohydraulic servo valve replaced with a proportional link. A two-stage nozzle-flapper servo valve with mechanical feedback from the spool to the flap was selected at level 2. Objective functions were proposed to estimate project variants of each subsystem. Optimization by investigation of parameter space using the method based on the LP-sequences or genetic algorithms were presumed to be suitable. The concept described in the article is based on generalization of methods of electrohydraulic servo actuator optimization, which are known in the literature, and includes new proposals on the structure of the optimization algorithm.
Justification of groove dimensions for mounting a ring of contact sealing devices
# 06, June 2013
DOI: 10.7463/0613.0565120
O.F. Nikitin
This work is aimed at providing theoretical justification for selecting groove dimensions for mounting an elastic ring of the contact sealing device. Available information is not enough for reasonable selection of those dimensions. The cross-section of the groove corresponds to the rectangular one. Groove depth is determined by the elastic ring’s ratio of compression. Groove width is determined by the cross-sectional area of the ring in the initial condition considering the changes in shape of the section during deformation and the compressive strain in the cross section of the ring along with the volume swelling of this elastic ring in the environment of process fluids. Theoretical calculations for determining the groove dimensions depending on various factors were presented in this article in order to justify the selection of those dimensions for mounting an elastic ring. These results would allow one to determine more precisely the size of grooves that provide airtightnes, subject to various factors.

Improved methods for solving multi-criteria parametric tasks according to specified quality and software criteria as the basis of the center of competence of an optimum design of vehicles
# 06, June 2013
DOI: 10.7463/0613.0577818
S.V. Bakhmutov, A.A. Akhmedov
The authors describe a project technology of solving multi-criteria parametric optimization problems in the field of motor transport. This technology is based on a two-stage approach. Stage 1 is optimization of performances of units and devices of a car, presented as a generalized description. Stage 2 is optimization of design parameters of units and devices of real designs. Performances of units and devices should be moved close to “optimal” ones obtained at the previous stage. Test items (two- and tri-axial cars) used for verification of the mathematical description are presented in the article. Application software STABCON 2.0 was developed for solving design and finishing tasks in the field of automotive industry. The software system is flexible and can be adjusted for solving design problems in the field of automotive technology beyond limits of controllability and stability properties. A designer can use previously created models. The authors draw a conclusion on the need for setting up a competence center for training industry experts and assisting them in solving optimal design tasks.
Solving the problem of creation of finite element models for car seats with active head restraints designed to meet the requirements of passive safety
# 06, June 2013
DOI: 10.7463/0613.0574693
D.Yu. Solopov, V.N. Zuzov
In this work rational finite element models of head restraints of car seats were developed for studies of passive safety under impact loading, affected in accordance with the current standard of passive safety. Assessment of those models regarding errors, labor cost of development and solving with the use of software packages which implement the FEM (ANSYS, Femap and LS-DYNA) was carried out along with assessment of influence of head restraint’s materials on the solution. Calculations based on the finite element method make it possible to obtain the whole information on the process of emergency loading required for estimating the safety of car seats in case of  rear-end collisions.

# 06, June 2013
DOI: 10.7463/0613.0567697
M.M. Jileikin, I.V. Fedotov
One of the promising ways to solve the problems of improving smoothness of motion of multi-wheeled vehicles (MWV) is development of suspension control systems to ensure stabilization of the MWV’s housing under different influences. On the basis of application of methods of fuzzy logic an adaptive proportional differential law of continuous MWV suspension control was developed. Methods of simulation modeling were used to analyze efficiency of the developed control law for active and semi-active suspension systems. It was shown that the proposed adaptive proportional differential law for semi-active suspension system could be considered more preferable for practical application in MWV suspensions in comparison with the similar law for active suspension systems due to their similar efficiency and lower energy costs.

# 06, June 2013
DOI: 10.7463/0613.0586338
A.N. Morozov, A.V. Skripkin
This paper describes motion of a plane surface in an unbounded viscous medium with non-Newtonian properties under the action of a random force. It was shown that fluctuations in the velocity of such a surface are described by a stochastic integral equation, and are classified as non-Markov processes.  Statistical characteristics of changes in surface velocity, including a characteristic function of the first order and moments of the first and the second order were obtained. It was also shown that the effect of both dilettant and pseudo-plastic non-Newtonian fluids in the first approximation have similar statistical properties. It was determined that the variance of fluctuations of surface acceleration in case of a non-Newtonian medium was greater compared to the same parameter in a Newtonian fluid.
Numerical simulation of surgical robotic manipulator in point-to-point motion
# 06, June 2013
DOI: 10.7463/0613.0574314
Yu.V. Bogdanova, A.M. Guskov
In this paper a point-to-point motion problem was considered by the example of brain biopsy. It was emphasized that this operation requires exceptional end-effector positioning accuracy to the target point. End-effector motion was considered as point-to-point Cartesian trajectory tracking. The desired trajectory in Cartesian space was transformed to joint coordinate trajectory in joint space through solving the inverse kinematic problem. Computed-torque control was selected as a control scheme. Desired joint positions, velocities and accelerations were input signals for the inverse dynamic problem with the control low to compute joint torques required for implementing the required end-effector motion. Current joint position, velocity and acceleration were computed through solving the direct dynamic problem. High point-to-point motion accuracy indicators prove adequacy of the available robotic manipulator model and suitability of the selected control scheme. The task of numerical simulation was solved with the use of MATLAB® Robotics Toolbox + Simulink®.

DOI: 10.7463/0613.0571439
V.V. Dik, S.A. Krasnova, S.B. Tkachev
The problem of analytical reservation of measuring systems of an aircraft is solved with the use of state observers. The problem of tracking a program trajectory which implements landing maneuvers (approach and round-out) is solved by using estimates obtained by state observers. Aircraft movement in vertical plane was considered. It was assumed that the aircraft is exposed to limited unknown external disturbances. As a system of analytical reservation of board instruments, cascade system of state observers working on the sliding mode was proposed. This system allowed to estimate both some of the variables of the state vector and external disturbances acting on the aircraft. Simulation results were presented in the article.
Identification of random fields using methods based on signs of observation residuals
# 06, June 2013
DOI: 10.7463/0613.0571085
V.B. Goryainov
The process of two-dimensional autoregression of order (1, 1) was considered. Distribution of the innovation field of the autoregressive model is assumed to be unknown. Estimation of the autoregressive model parameters, based on the signs of observation residuals, was constructed. Consistency and asymptotic normality of these estimations was proved. Asymptotic relative efficiency of the estimation in relation to the least squares estimation was calculated. The conclusion was drawn on the advantage of the constructed estimation over the least squares estimation if the innovation field has double exponential distribution or Tukey distribution.

# 06, June 2013
DOI: 10.7463/0613.0579179
V.A. Matveev, B.S. Lunin, M.A. Basarab, E.A. Chumankin
A new technology of balancing geared metal resonators of cylindrical Coriolis vibratory gyroscopes (CVG) for strap down inertial navigation systems of low and medium accuracy was proposed. Removal of an unbalanced mass from the teeth surfaces was performed by a high-precision electrochemical method. The proposed balancing algorithm allows to eliminate lower forms of mass defect, one by one or simultaneously, affecting the instrument operation. The algorithm does not require complex calculations when determining the mass removed from the teeth, and it could be used with any number of teeth on the edge of a resonator. The developed technology of balancing can be easily implemented and automated, it does not require expensive equipment.

# 06, June 2013
DOI: 10.7463/0613.0576586
P.S. Dozmorov, A.T. Roslyak
The authors consider application sedimentation from the starting layer, which allows one to record large grains in a test sample, unlike other sedimentation methods. The analyzing method for grain-size composition of powders and particles of geological material was considered from a perspective of transformation of obtained information in a hardware component of a device as the most suitable for algorithmization of processing measured data when using the sedimentation analysis from the starting layer. Special attention was paid to the analysis of discrete values of the accumulative function by the linear method with a possibility of implementing this method as software.
Development of an automatic segmentation algorithm for fluorescent microscopic images of cell culture preparations in microbiology tasks
# 06, June 2013
DOI: 10.7463/0613.0574140
O.A. Artyukhova, A.V. Samorodov
This article presents results of development of an automatic segmentation algorithm for fluorescent microscopic images of cell culture preparations in microbiology tasks. The segmentation algorithm is based on the Niblack local adaptive threshold  inarization of cells images in the V channel of the HSV color space, and images of inclusions of intracellular parasites formed with the use of the modified method of color deconvolution. Practical usage of the segmentation algorithm became possible due to the development of the fast algorithm for the Niblack local adaptive binarization. The fast algorithm is based on construction of two integral representations of the original image: a classical integral image and an integral squared image used for quick calculation of local standard deviation of intensity values. The proposed method provides reduction of binarization running time by 5 orders on average. Introduction of the algorithm into microbiological laboratory practice would eliminate the negative impact of fluorescence on doctor’s eyes caused by visual microscopic analysis of cell culture preparations, significantly reduce complexity and time of the analysis of one preparation and increase overall accuracy of the cultural method.

A statistical model of the market sector of macroeconomic management
# 06, June 2013
DOI: 10.7463/0613.0586255
S.L. Chernyshev
The author considers a statistical model of the market sector of the macroeconomic management system, where supply and demand lack any regular pattern due to the statistical spread of customers’ incomes and sellers’ profitability. Probability density distribution of customers’ incomes and sellers’ profitability was determined on the basis of studying market statistics. Using these distributions it was possible to obtain distribution density of possible supply and demand over the market price. Natural and monetary sales volumes, mean price, supply and demand dynamics were also determined. A feature of this model is simultaneous existence of an unsatisfied demand and a stock in trade, which, for example, is typical for the labor market.

In 2012 at MSAL named after Kutafin a scientific research was carried out; the aim of the research was to determine prospects for further development of the University’s knowledge management system. In recent years many researchers paid significant attention to development of this branch of IT penetration into the field of education. After analyzing the existent experience, a group of authors defined a check list of the most promising and successful projects which had been implemented, in a varying degree, with the use of knowledge management systems. The authors made special reference to the system for generating educational content developed at Bauman MSTU under the auspices of prof. I.P. Norenkov. This particular direction that allows to increase efficiency of development and actualization of electronic educational resources, in the future, will help to create unified subject areas in universities, which, in their turn, will clear the way to new learning technologies based on project and cross-disciplinary forms of the teaching process. This article describes problems of electronic educational resources in the university and approaches to their solving. A set of scenarios of formation, visualization and application of knowledge bases was also considered.

Yu.N. Artemenko, S.N. Sayapin
This is the fourth paper in the series of four works dedicated to design of parallel mechanisms for orientation of the space observatory “Millimetron”. In this work the authors consider problems of providing high-precision geometry of the space observatory “Millimetron” released on the orbit along with its very precise pointing at the observable object. These problems are caused by very high sensitivity of the observatory and its operation under conditions of deep vacuum and extra-low temperatures. The concept of intelligence system of active vibration protection and very precise pointing of the space observatory “Millimetron”  was introduced. This is a unique system; it allows to increase efficiency of vibration protection and precise pointing of the observatory significantly.

# 06, June 2013
DOI: 10.7463/0613.0569312
V.S. Zarubin, G.N. Kuvyrkin
On the basis of a developed mathematical model of heat transfer in composite with anisotropic inclusions of ellipsoidal shape, a procedure for calculating components of an effective heat-conduction tensor of the textured composite was proposed. A variant of inclusions in the form of ellipsoids of rotation was considered. The main axes of the heat-conduction tensor of such inclusions coincide with symmetric axes of an ellipsoid. In case of conic texture of a composite its possible dispersion was taken into account. The obtained results could be used for estimating effective thermal conductivity of composites modified with nanostructured elements (including carbon nanotubes). Due to electrothermal analogy these results are applicable when consideringcharacteristics of electrical conductivity and dielectric capacitance of textured composites.

# 06, June 2013
DOI: 10.7463/0613.0579054
A.B. Krasovskii
Features of architecture of an individual cycle of switching in a gated inductor motor were considered in this article. Existent control algorithms for the motor obtained on the basis of a simplified piecewise linear representation of its real magnetic characteristics were estimated. Simulation results of a cycle of phase switching of the motor with the use of its experimental nonlinear magnetic characteristics were presented; these results were used to formulate optimum, in terms of force and power indexes, conditions of turning on/off. Character of voltage variation on the drive’s phase with standard parameters for maintaining the presence of a current in the zone of overlap of interacting poles was determined.

N.I. Artemenko, V.N. Simonov, S.A. Muboyadjyan
This work presents results of thermodynamic studies and searching for a rational chemical activation dopant for deposition of hafnium from the gaseous phase onto the surface of gas-turbine engine’s parts made of heatproof nickel alloys in order to increase diffusion stability of heatproof aluminide coatings. Calculations showed impossibility of using a traditional activation dopant, that is nickel dichloride, for hafnium coating because liberation of gaseous hafnium compounds occurs at temperatures which are beyond reach for modern equipment for thermochemical treatment. During this investigation it was established that ammonium chloride could be used as an activation dopant. If hafnium consists one fifth of ammonium chloride in the saturating mixture, amount of gaseous hafnium chloride reaches its maximum.

Availability of Russian scientific periodicals: meaning of Ulrich’s Periodicals Directory and publishers’ web-sites
# 06, June 2013
DOI: 10.7463/0613.0585718

The ambition of Russian periodicals to join international scientific and informational space and citation indexes, which is regulated by state documents, can’t be successful without increasing the qualitative level and availability of journals by means of indexing in the leading foreign databases. Ulrich’s Periodicals Directory is the main source of information about journals for the international society and experts of citation indexes. This base covers more than 220 thousand existent journals published in 200 languages and in 90 thousand publishing houses. The authors analyze data on Russian periodicals in Ulrich’s database. The main statistical and actual data on Russian journals contained in this database are presented in the article. The analysis results showed that only 40% of Russian periodicals are represented in this database. As journal websites are the main source of information for Ulrich’s and other databases, including citation indexes, creation and development of websites is a crucial problem. Solving this problem would allow publishers to get the most complete image of Russian periodicals in Ulrich’s database and provide a better “visibility” and “availability” of Russian scientific journals for the international scientific and information community. This article presents basic recommendations on the structure and content of information on a website along with the strategy of its development into a full-fledged publishing platform.
