ISB plans MBA in the Punjab

# 08, August 2010
The Indian School of Business will enrol more than 200 students on its new campus in Mohali, Punjab in April 2012, following the beginning of construction work there this month. The 70-acre campus, which will be completed by March 2010, will be ISB’s second campus in India - the school established its first campus in Hyderabad in 1999 with the help of international business schools such as Wharton, Kellogg and London Business School.

The new campus has been set up with initial investment of 2bn rupees ($42.9m) from a number of ISB’s initial investors: Analjit Singh, Atul Punj, Pawan and Sunil Munjal and Rakesh Bharti Mittal.

The school’s flagship PGPM (post-graduate programme in management), is ranked number 12 in the world in the Financial Times annual MBA rankings.

The Mohali ISB campus will be home to four institutes, which will focus on: healthcare management; public policy; manufacturing excellence and innovation; and physical infrastructure management. The MIT Sloan school of management will give academic support to the BML Munjal Hero Honda Institute of Manufacturing Excellence and the Punj Lloyd Institute of Physical Infrastructure Management. Wharton will support the Max India Institute of Healthcare Management, while the academic association for the Bharti Institute of Public Policy is still being finalised.

The foundation stone for the new campus was laid by the Honourable Chief Minister of Punjab, Sardar Parkash Singh. Savita Mahajan, deputy dean of ISB, is chief executive of the Mohali Campus.
