In this article the topic of cryptocurrency is described on the example of bitcoin – peer-to-peer electronic cash. Process of bitcoin generation – mining – is defined and reviewed using the case of mining with personal computers. Brief review of hardware for bitcoin mining is made. Definition of mining rigs is given, the author performes comparison of different mining rigs and adduces an example of profitable configuration for bitcoin genetation. Author gives a hypothesize that bitcoin mining at home soon will be economically unreasonable.
