Engineering Education # 10, October 2011 With the Green functions method the authors studied metal particles polarization on the conductor substrate in an inhomogeneous electrostatic field of a scanning tunneling microscope. Mutual shielding of 10 nm nanoparticles reach approximately 10% and is expressed more greatly when the nanoparticle size difference is bigger. Calculation results will be applied in nanotechnology and nanometrology.
