WEB-oriented system of Pareto-approximation quality estimation in problems of multi-purpose optimization
Engineering Bulletin # 08, August 2017
УДК: 519.6
When solving practical, primarily, technical optimization tasks, the tasks of multi-objective optimization (MCHO-tasks) often arise, when it is desirable to exaggerate not one but several objective functions. It is well known that since, as a rule, it is impossible to achieve the extreme value of all objective functions simultaneously, the solution of such a problem is a certain compromise belonging to the Pareto set of the problem, that is, to a set of solutions that are not simultaneously improved for all objective functions. By the solution of the MCE-problem, we call the Pareto set of this problem, assuming that, after constructing some finite-dimensional approximation of the given set (P-approximation), the person making the decision (LPR), using informal or formalized methods, selects the unique solution from it. WEB-oriented software system PARETO-Q is designed for remote evaluation of Pareto-approximation quality in multi-purpose optimization problems. The system is designed to solve the problem of consolidation of Pareto-approximation algorithms and algorithms for estimating the quality of approximation. We represent the software used by the system, the architecture of the system, some results of computational experiments.

DOI: 10.7463/0514.0709781
The paper aims to present a developed mathematical model of the distribution urban power supply network taking into account its future development. Based on this model the task is set to optimize the prospective power supply network development through the solving a problem of multi-criteria structural and parametrical optimization. Expediency is proved to use a method of reduction to the one-criteria task, which represents a problem of continuous-discrete-integer programming to solve this task. Representation of this task is proved as a problem of discrete programming based on the discrete approximation of possible regions to construct new transforming and distributional substations.

Statistical modeling of programs' performance
Engineering Education # 01, January 2014
DOI: 10.7463/0114.0679688
A task of evaluation of program's performance occurs often in the process of design of computer systems or during the iterative compilation. A traditional way to solve this problem is an emulation of program's execution on the target system. A modern alternative approach to evaluation of program's performance is based on the statistical modeling of program's performance on a computer under investigation. This statistical method of modeling programs' performance called Velocitas was introduced in this work. The method and its implementation in the Adaptor framework were presented. Investigation of the method's effectiveness showed high adequacy of program's performance prediction.

Two-criterion identification of kinetic parameters of olefin hydroalumination by HAlBui2 and ClAlBui2
Engineering Education # 12, December 2013
DOI: 10.7463/1213.0645511
This work was carried out in the context of investigation and development of original two-component neutral catalyst systems made of mixed-valence metal compounds (titanium and zirconium) and organoaluminum compounds. A problem of identification of kinetic parameters of olefin hydroalumination, which belongs to a class of inverse problems of chemical kinetics, was considered in this paper. As a rule, identification problem is formulated as a single-criterion optimization problem for residuals between calculations and experimental data. The disadvantage of such a formulation consists in the fact that important prior information about kinetic features of a chemical reaction under investigation is ignored during identification. A distinct feature and novelty of this work is a new formulation of the identification problem; the problem was considered as a two-criterion optimization task which allowed to take into account both experimental data on the kinetics of the chemical reaction under investigation and prior information about this reaction. Solution to this problem represents the Pareto set. In order to approximate the Pareto set a modified Adaptive Weighted Sum method was used. One of the purposes of this work is to test the modified AWS method while solving real world two-criterion inverse problems of chemical kinetics. Two-criterion identification problem of kinetics of olefin hydroalumination by halbui2 and clalbui2 was formulated in this work. The algorithms and software which were used are described in this paper. The obtained calculation results were analyzed and discussed.
Multi-criteria estimation of the relevancy of documents in the enterprise ontological knowledge base using thematic clusterization
Engineering Education # 11, November 2013
DOI: 10.7463/1113.0637857
This work is a part of investigation devoted to the development of design methods for ontological knowledge bases, oriented at the decision support in the enterprise information systems. An approach to finding solutions in knowledge bases using document’s metadata was considered. Document’s metadata as well as search queries were represented as the frames of design and search patterns respectively. Slots of those patterns corresponded to the concepts’ roles in the utilized ontology. Specified roles divided concepts of ontology, a document and a query into clusters. Semantic networks for those clusters were defined in such a way that search queries of a document were represented as a set of semantic networks, corresponding to the slots of design and search patterns. The relevancy of a document was estimated by a set of metrics which formalized the nearness of semantic networks. A problem formulation of multi-criteria estimation of the relevancy of documents in the enterprise ontological knowledge base and an adaptive solution method were presented in this paper.
Modified method of adaptive weighted sums in the problem of multi-criterion optimization
Engineering Education # 11, November 2013
DOI: 10.7463/1113.0632468
This paper deals with the problem of multi-criterion optimization. It was assumed that the Pareto set is a solution to this problem. A promising approach to solving this problem is the adaptive weighted sum (AWS) method. Just like the classic weighted sum method based on the additive convolution of partial optimality criteria, the adaptive method also is based on the  convolution. But the AWS method also proposes adaptation of weighting coefficients during iterations on the basis of the current location of the search subarea. This method works with meta-models of criterion functions in order to reduce computational costs. Results of our investigations showed that the AWS method provides a high quality Pareto-approximation in case of a convex, although, maybe, unconnected Pareto frontier. For problems with a concave Pareto frontier this method doesn’t always provide sufficient quality of solution or it does but this takes too much time. In some cases the AWS method could provide an unacceptable solution caused by a special method of constraint satisfaction. The purpose of this work is to overcome specified disadvantages of the AWS method. A problem formulation for multi-criterion optimization was presented along with basic approaches to its solving. Several modifications of the ASW method proposed by the authors were considered. A brief description of the developed software implementing the method and its modifications were presented. Performance study of this software was carried out.

Implementation of this algorithm developed in MATLAB was described in this work. This software is oriented to a parallel operation of the given number of PSO algorithms at the logical level. These algorithms use various neighbourhood topologies of particles and/or various values of their free parameters. Results of a comprehensive numerical experiment on performance study of Co-PSO and its implementation were also presented. The experiment was based on Rosenbrock, Himmelblau and Rastrigin benchmark functions. Experimental results show superiority of the Co-PSO algorithm over the canonical PSO. A three-criterion problem of optimal control for a spacecraft during its reentry was solved with the use of Co-PSO. Methods of additive scalar convolution and reduction of the optimal control problem to a nonlinear programming problem were used in this work.

Engineering Education # 10, October 2013
DOI: 10.7463/1013.0605836
This article deals with a promising global optimization method that is a method of biogeography (BBO). Efficiency of this algorithm and its implementation was demonstrated by the example of the known complicated minimization problem of the multidimensional Rastrigin function. Integration of implementation of the biogeography method developed in MATLAB with PowerFactory software of DlgSilent was considered; PowerFactory software was used to calculate total power losses in the electric circuit being under consideration. Efficiency of the biogeography method for solving optimization problems of IEEE9 and Kuban’s power networks was investigated with the use of MATLAB BBO + PowerFactory. By optimizing a set of compensators and their physical layout, real-power losses in the specified networks were successfully reduced by 9.2% and 2.5% respectively.

Engineering Education # 09, September 2013
DOI: 10.7463/0913.0603388
In this paper we consider a global optimization problem and a method of Cuckoo Search (CS). CS method could be used for solving the specified problem. This method belongs to a new class of population based algorithms, which have been developed actively in recent years. In contrast with other known population based methods CS has only two free parameters. The goal of this work is to increase the efficiency of the canonical CS method. Several different modifications were presented in this work along with their software implementations; the canonical method was also implemented. Results of comprehensive performance study of proposed modifications by the example of a set of benchmark functions which revealed advantages over the canonical method were presented. One of proposed modifications was used for solving the existent practical problem of minimizing the expenditures on the manufacturing of high-pressure vessels. It was shown that proposed modifications provide a better value of the objective function in comparison with results obtained by other researches and also allow one to meet all restrictions.

Engineering Education # 08, August 2013
DOI: 10.7463/0813.0587740
A dodecapod is a one-section parallel manipulator which could be considered as an evolution of the wide-known hexapod, or the Stewart platform. The idea of a dodecapod was proposed by prof. S.N. Sayapin in 2012. In this article the authors consider one of the dodecapod’s functional capabilities: movement within a linear cylindrical tube of uniform and variable cross-sections. A design model of the dodecapod was presented in this paper along with propagation conditions for dodecapod’s movement within the tubes and the algorithms of changing the lengths of dodecapod’s rods, which make its movement possible. The presented results allow to draw a conclusion that a one-sectional parallel manipulator based on a dodecapod could be applied to creation of mechanisms for execution of technological operations in linear cylindrical tubes of uniform and variable cross-sections.

DOI: 10.7463/0113.0525190
The authors consider an algorithm for solving systems of linear algebraic equations (SLAE) with preconditions. The authors introduce parallel algorithms and software for image processing devices that implement the basic operations of the algorithm - multiplication of the matrix by a set of vectors and solutions of a block triangular SLAE. The results of extensive studies of effectiveness of the proposed algorithmic and software solutions are provided in this paper. These results show a fairly high efficiency of the developed algorithms and software for multiplication of the matrix by a set of vectors. Acceleration of computations in this case is four to sixteen times. Algorithms and programs for solving the block triangular SLAE showed satisfactory results which allow to expect an acceptable acceleration for practically significant SLAE of high dimension and when using professional GPU.

We use the models of semantic networks of ontology knowledge base and ontology knowledge a document of this base as the weighted multi-graphs. A number of these networks metrics is introducing. The metrics are base on topology behaviors of these graphs. On foundation of the metrics, we realize clusterization of semantic network of ontology knowledge base. Next, we define the weights of the multi-graph nodes and its arcs of this network. Finally, the paper presents a number of concept importance measures into semantic networks of knowledge base. The measures can use to estimate relevance of database queries.
